Anyone in the world Well ULearn was an interesting experience.
I notice that Moodle was being talked about in two or three presentations in every breakout (concurrent session). Lots of people asking about Moodle in general.
It was also great to meet up with soooooo many Moodle people we know in New Zealand like Mike, Dan and Meredith from Catalyst, Jacqui, Mark, and Anton - in fact too many Moodle people to mention.
It's fairly likely we will go again next year |

Anyone in the world Last week there was a complete outage of internet services in Northland when a contractor cut through a fibre optic cable north of Auckland. Throughout this period the NZ Telecom website that is supposed to report errors continually showed everything was OK - I even phoned them to ask why, and guess what... they cut me off! Who trusts NZ Telecom anymore?

Anyone in the world When I was at the Moodle Moot in Rome late last year it was fantastic to meet Ralf Hilgenstock finally in real life. Ralf worked with me in the early days of creating the Moodle Teacher Certificate (MTC) - which is now the Moodle Course Creator Certificate (MCCC). He has also been one of the driving forces of Moodle in Germany for many years. It was a shame I didn't get to spend more time with him

Anyone in the world Wow - what a game!
I didn't think this year's event could be as exciting as last year. But it was just as good. Amazing touchdowns in the dying seconds. An interception and 100 yard run. Penalties galore!
Even my wife enjoyed it

Anyone in the world This is Andrea (Moodle Partner in Italy), Anna Krassa (work works for HRD and is based in Greece), and myself.
I look aweful ! There is a good reason though. The day before I was in Muscat (Oman) for the Moodle conference. I left Muscat airport at 11.50pm I then flew to Dubai. I then flew to Geneva. I then flew to Rome. I got to Rome at 9.15am. I then spent the whole day at the conference - in the stage. I then had to have the energy to go the the conference dinner (which was great). But I had been awake for two days and had no sleep - so I think I look OK considering! lol (I did start hallucinating shortly after midnight).

Anyone in the world Well, it's taken me quite a few hours over December 2008 and January 2009 but finally I have nearly completed the updates for MoodleBites. Yippee!
We have removed the final week, spread out some of the content (it was too much for some participants), improved the graphics and added new ones to Lessons (with attribution to the originals on Flickr), added new Quizzes and questions, and more.
The only things left to do are the new video intros for each week (yes, that will be me again ) and some more work on making the course link in with MCCC - the Moodle Course Creator Certificate (formerly the MTC).

Anyone in the world Rarely do I take a photo in a toilet!
These toilets in the Sky City complex were quite impressive though with a central washbasin and mirrored doors everywhere - I almost got lost trying to leave

Anyone in the world Peter Bruce was presenting about how he has used Moodle to support his students doing management papers on the New Zealand Diploma in Business (NZDB). I've always enjoyed talking to Peter, he always things outside the box and has great management knowledge. [ Modified: Saturday, 10 January 2009, 07:17 PM ] |
